About the Event
Join the North Carolina Asian American Coalition (NCAAC) as we partner with the NC Election Integrity Team (NCEIT) for a Legislative Day of Action in Raleigh. Together, we will advocate for stronger election laws that protect the integrity of every legal vote in North Carolina.
🎯 Legislative Priorities Include:
🗳️ End Same-Day Registration and VotingSame-day registration undermines verification processes and treats voters unequally. Time does not allow for proper address confirmation by mail. North Carolina is the only Southeastern state that still allows it.
📄 Strengthen Voter Registration RequirementsThe current voter registration form fails to meet legal standards. We support requiring full legal names, both a driver’s license number and the last four digits of the Social Security number, and state of birth to properly verify voter eligibility.
🔍 Fix the Registration ProcessApplications marked as “Active Pending” are being accepted without complete verification. Weak documentation—like utility bills or bank statements—should not suffice. A…
